No. 7 Gators volleyball takes down No. 19 Texas A&M in four on the road
Florida matched its season high with 16 blocks and served 10 aces in a 3-1 win at Reed Arena. No. 12 Texas is next on Sunday.

No. 7 Florida volleyball won the battle at the net Friday night, beating No. 19 Texas A&M in four sets, 25-19, 23-25, 25-17, 25-16, in front of 6,464 fans at Reed Arena in College Station.
The Gators (14-2, 5-1 SEC) matched their season high with 16 team blocks and served 10 aces. Texas A&M (10-8, 3-3 SEC) committed 30 attack errors and 11 service errors, according to TexAgs. Florida outhit the Aggies .186 to .112, though A&M had more kills (48-44).
The leaders
- Kamryn Chaney led Florida with 12 kills and passed 200 kills for the season.
- Logan King had her second double-double of the year with 10 kills and 11 digs.
- Alec Rothe added nine kills on .438 hitting and six blocks.
- Brooklyn Briscoe led the block party with seven.
- Taylor Parks ran the offense with 36 assists, served four aces and had a career-high six blocks.
- Lily Hayes led the back row with 14 digs, and Bella Lee served three aces.
Texas A&M All-American Kyndal Stowers had 17 kills and 11 digs.
How it went
Florida held the Aggies to .065 hitting in the first set and pulled away late for a 25-19 win. A&M answered with a 25-23 second set, but the Gators took over from there. A&M hit .000 with just seven kills in the third set, and Florida hit .333 in the fourth, building an 11-point lead before closing it out 25-16.
"Our block got us the rest of those," Florida coach Ryan Theis said. "Then when you throw good serving, block and sideout at them, the score gets a little lopsided."
It was Florida's fifth win over a ranked opponent this season, the most since 2017, and a bounce-back from last Sunday's 3-1 loss at Vanderbilt. Florida is now 24-3 all-time against Texas A&M, according to UF.
Up next: No. 12 Texas
The road trip ends Sunday at No. 12 Texas at Gregory Gymnasium in Austin. First serve is 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. (More: No. 7 Gators volleyball heads to Texas for No. 19 Texas A&M and No. 12 Texas.)
