Jones Finds Dippre Again as Gators Tie No. 7 Texas 17-17

Tramell Jones Jr. found tight end Lacota Dippre again, this time for an 8-yard touchdown with 6:50 left in the third quarter. Patrick Durkin's extra point tied Florida and No. 7 Texas at 17-17 in Austin. It was Dippre's second touchdown catch of the day.

The drive

According to ESPN's game data, Florida's opening possession of the second half went 69 yards in 15 plays and took 8:03. It started at the Florida 31 after London Montgomery's 24-yard kickoff return. The Gators went 5-for-5 on third down on the drive: two conversions to Bailey Stockton, one to Dallas Wilson, one to Micah Mays Jr. and, after a Florida timeout, the third-and-3 touchdown throw to Dippre from the 8. Scott Carter called it the "most impressive drive of season considering circumstances."

ESPN's game data now shows Jones, in his first career start, at 17 of 25 for 119 yards with 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. @GatorsFB posted: "Jones to Dippre AGAIN." Graham Hall wrote: "We've got ourselves a game in Austin."

Stockton exits

The drive cost Florida receiver Bailey Stockton, who went down after a catch with 10:56 left in the third quarter and walked off with a leg issue. Charlie Jones, a student broadcaster with the Gators Sports Network on WRUF, later reported that Stockton went to the locker room. Florida has not announced his status.
